Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains what information DFW Car Accidents collects on dfwcaraccidents.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we can.

The short version #

Information you give us #

When you use our contact form or email us, we collect:

When you use the "Was this page helpful?" buttons on a guide, we collect your answer (yes or no) and the address of the page. The site keeps your IP address and browser user agent with it, to stop spam. Your answer stays with this site.

Please don't send sensitive information. That includes details about your crash, anything about injuries, health or medical care, driver's license numbers, insurance numbers, and financial information. Information about a health diagnosis is "sensitive data" under Texas privacy law. We don't ask for it and don't want it. If you send it anyway, we will not use it for anything except replying to you, and we will delete it after we reply.

Texas law gives Texas residents rights over their personal data. We offer these rights to every visitor. You can ask us to:

How to ask: Email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request," or use the form on our contact page and start your message with "Privacy request." Tell us what you'd like us to do. We may need to ask a few questions to confirm the request is really from you.

When we will answer: We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why within those 45 days, and we may take up to 45 more days. Requests are free at least twice a year.

If we say no: We will explain why. You can appeal by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy appeal," or by using our contact form and starting your message with "Privacy appeal." We will answer your appeal in writing within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you can file a complaint on the Texas Attorney General's consumer complaint page.

We don't use cookies for analytics or advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our guides will still work.

Children #

This site is for a general audience, including teen drivers. It is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security #

We use reasonable steps to protect information. But no website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information.

Our guides link to official sites such as TxDOT and the Texas Department of Insurance. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for how they handle information.
