About this site
About this site
DFW Car Accidents is a plain-language guide for people in Dallas-Fort Worth who were just in a car crash. We explain the next steps in simple words: staying safe at the scene, getting your crash report, dealing with insurance, towing and repairs, and checking out a lawyer if you decide you want one.
Who runs this site #
DFW Car Accidents is an independent, plain-language guide. It is not a law firm, a lawyer referral service or a government agency, and no lawyer, clinic, tow company, repair shop or insurance company pays for it (see how the site is paid for). You can reach us at [email protected] or through our contact page.
What we are not #
Our guides are general information. They are not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. For advice about your own situation, talk with a lawyer licensed in Texas. Read our full disclaimer.
How the site is paid for #
Right now, this site doesn't make money. It has no ads, no sponsors and no paid links. No lawyer, clinic, tow company, repair shop or insurance company pays us. We don't sell information about our visitors.
If that ever changes, we will update this page first. Any advertising would be clearly labeled as an advertisement.
What we never do #
How we write our guides #
- We check facts against official sources. These include Texas laws, TxDOT, the Texas Department of Insurance, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the State Bar of Texas, and city and county websites.
- We leave out what we can't confirm. If we can't confirm a phone number or fee in an official source, we don't publish it.
- We note when we last checked. Laws, fees and phone numbers change. Each guide shows when it was last checked.
- We keep it plain. Short sentences. Clear steps. No scare tactics and no sales pitch.
Spot a mistake? #
If something on this site is wrong or out of date, please tell us at [email protected] or through our contact page. Please don't include details about your own crash, injuries or health.
